Showit tips & strategies
Hi, I'm Alexandra! Find web marketing strategies, Showit tutorials & design hacks, and WooCommerce tips—all to help you build a website you'll love.

Over the next 8 articles, I’m going to show you 8 concrete elements I implement on my WordPress and Showit pages so that ChatGPT, Grok, Perplexity, Gemini, and other AI tools naturally cite and recommend me.
Today, #1: Schema Markup (JSON-LD structured data). This is one of the most powerful levers in 2026 to go from “invisible page” to “reference source” for AI.
AI doesn’t read your pages the way a human does. It looks for structured data to instantly understand:
JSON-LD (Schema.org) gives AI this information in machine-readable language. The result: your pages get cited far more often.
The important rule:
As a general rule, one primary schema per page is enough. But it’s entirely possible — and often recommended — to combine several complementary schemas on the same page: for example Article + FAQPage, or Service + Organization. Google supports them natively and AI tools make full use of them.
You are an expert in Schema.org and AEO optimization.
Go to the following page: [INSERT FULL URL HERE]
Analyze the main content of the page and determine the most relevant Schema.org schema type (Article, Product, Person, Organization, Service, WebPage, etc.).
Create the complete and valid JSON-LD code for this schema:
- Fill in all important fields with information extracted from the page
- Add the "url" property with the exact URL of the page
- Add "@id" pointing to the same URL
- The JSON must be 100% valid
- Wrap all the code with the <script type="application/ld+json"> ... </script> tag
- Do NOT include any explanatory text before or after the code. Return ONLY the script block.
Generate the code now.
2. Simply replace [INSERT FULL URL HERE] with your page’s link. The AI will send you back the code ready to paste.
Showit doesn’t generate a schema automatically, but it’s incredibly simple:
On WordPress, it’s even simpler than on Showit thanks to free plugins.
The best free plugin in 2026 is Rank Math SEO, the one I use and recommend.
Steps to add the schema:
The JSON-LD is automatically added to the <head> of your page.
Other reliable free plugins:
Once the schema is added:
These two tools are complementary: the Rich Results Test confirms eligibility for Google’s rich results, while validator.schema.org checks the technical compliance of your schema. If no errors are flagged, your schema is being properly read by both Google and AI tools.
You’ve just laid the first foundation of your AEO optimization. With Schema Markup properly set up on WordPress or Showit, your pages become understandable and usable by AI.
In the next article (#2), I’ll show you how to create an irresistible FAQ section that gets AI to cite you first.
