Showit tips & strategies
Hi, I'm Alexandra! Find web marketing strategies, Showit tutorials & design hacks, and WooCommerce tips—all to help you build a website you'll love.

Some of you may have noticed: for the past few weeks, I’ve barely posted anything on Instagram. If it had actually worked and brought in clients easily, I probably would have kept going. But the truth is, it was completely draining me. I had zero energy left to create my products, take care of my website, or simply do what I love in my business. Instagram had become the main thing eating up my entire workday… and it just wasn’t sustainable anymore.
I watched a video from an entrepreneur who said: “If you don’t like posting on social media, you need to understand that’s just part of being an entrepreneur. We all do things we don’t necessarily enjoy (accounting, emails, etc.).” At first, I kind of agreed with him. Except… it didn’t sit right with me.
For some people, hustling on social media might feel like a necessary step. But for introverts like me, it’s a straight-up energy black hole. Beyond the time and exhaustion, there’s this constant feeling of not being true to myself: forced smiles, shallow content, nonstop pressure… It’s not just “something I don’t like.” It was genuinely emptying me.
Instagram has mostly become an entertainment platform, and I really struggled to position myself as a professional on it. Creating content that becomes outdated in 24 hours… Formats that never let you go deep… Being a slave to an abstract, ever-changing algorithm… Trying to follow methods that often contradict each other… All of it piled up and drove me crazy. I finally told myself: “Enough. I want my time and energy back.”
So I decided to (finally!) dedicate myself to the SEO of my website. And the best surprise? My 5-6 daily visitors didn’t drop at all 😂 I don’t see the full results of the SEO work I’ve started yet (it takes time, that’s normal), but one thing is crystal clear: I’m way more productive and way more relaxed.
My blog is finally live, and I already know this choice was the right one. I can now write longer, deeper articles that tackle real topics and real problems to help web designers using Showit, WordPress, and WooCommerce—just like me. And most of all, it makes me genuinely happy to share my passion without chasing likes or views. I’m keeping my Instagram and I’ll post there when I have something to share, but it’s no longer the center of everything. From now on, this blog is where it all starts. This is exactly what I needed.
Does this resonate with you? Drop a comment below and let me know if you’re also thinking about stepping back from Instagram – I’d love to hear your story.
